9/11 Footage: New York Public Library Acquires 500 Hours of Unseen Video
The New York Public Library has acquired the CameraPlanet Archive, a 1,200-hour collection of 9/11 video, including 500+ hours of unseen first-person footage shot by New Yorkers during and after the attacks. Donated by a husband-and-wife filmmaking team, it covers Ground Zero recovery, damaged transit, and pet rescues. Public access is planned by 2027 after cataloging and digitization.
